Trump announces “decisive and powerful” military action against Houthi rebels in Yemen | World News

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a “decisive and powerful military action against the Houthi Rebels in Yemen on Saturday, accusing them of piracy, violence and terrorism against Americans.
It was nearly two weeks after the United States redesignated the Houthi rebels as a foreign terrorist organization.
“Today, I order the U.S. military to launch decisive and powerful military operations against Houthi terrorists in Yemen. They have carried out relentless campaigns against piracy, violence and targeting Americans, as well as others, ships, aircraft and drones.”
Trump said the United States will use “overwhelming lethal force” against Hussis, while accusing them of ‘suffocating’ transportation through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea and Aden, which affected trade and commerce and “attacked” the principle of freedom of navigation.
“The Houthis attack on American ships will not be tolerated. We will use overwhelming lethal forces before we achieve our goal. Houthis has choked transport in one of the world’s most important waterways, limiting a large amount of global commerce to stop, stumble, and attacking the core principles of freedom of navigation in international trade and commerce.
Trump criticized former President Joe Biden’s “weak” reaction to Houthis, noting that Houthis’ attack on U.S. military and commercial ships cost the U.S. economy “billions of dollars.”
“Joe Biden’s reaction was on a pathetic weakness, so the unrestricted Houthis has been moving forward. It has crossed the Red Sea in the Red Sea since the American-tagged commercial spacecraft safely crossed the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, the Red Sea or the Gulf of Mexico in Aden, four months ago, being attacked by houthiles. “These ruthless attacks have cost our troops and allies billions of dollars while putting innocent lives at risk,” Trump said. ”
Trump said the U.S. is now “initiating air attacks on terrorist bases, leaders and missile defenses to protect U.S. shipping, air and naval assets and restore freedom of navigation.”
“No terrorists will prevent U.S. commercial and naval ships from sailing freely on the world’s waterways,” Trump added.
Trump also issued a direct warning to Iran to end its support for the Houthis and threaten the ongoing serious consequences.
He warned: “Support for Iran: Support for Houthi terrorists must end immediately! Don’t threaten the American people, their president, they are one of the biggest missions in presidential history or the global transport lane.”
“If you do this, be careful, because the United States will put you completely in charge and we won’t be very good about it!” Trump added.
