The Commissioner Task Force Southwest, along with Langer Houz police officers, foiled the murder plot and arrested five people with two country pistols and five live shots.
The five defendants have been identified as Syed Afroz, 37-year-old Syed Afroz, Mohd Shah Owais, 29, Mohd Arbaaz Khan, 22, Syed Firdos, 34, Syed Imtiyaz Ali, 45.
Both suspects, Jaber and Mohd Jameel, are absconding.
“The gang is planning to eliminate financial and personal disputes related to real estate transactions to eliminate a noisy performer and his brother,” said Mohd Iqbal Siddique of the Southwest Additional DCP.
The operation was conducted around 5 p.m. on April 18, when police acted with reliable intelligence and arrested the defendant as he was preparing to carry out the plan in Langer Houz.
The main targets were identified as Ahmed Ali Khan, also known as Ashraf or Ashu, the noisy floor of the Narsingi Police Station range and his brother Ibrahim (also known as Amer).
“The main defendant Syed Afroz, who runs a construction business, has previously had real estate transactions with Ashraf and Amer. Tensions escalated when the latter reportedly failed to deliver on financial commitments in the business,” the official explained.
Mohd Shah Owais and Syed Firdos, who are also involved in real estate, are also skeptical about unpaid membership fees. Another defendant, Syed Imtiyaz Ali, seeking revenge for the murder of his younger brother Syed Fayazuddin, was allegedly committed by Ashraf, Amer and his colleagues in a 2020 registered case.
“With the assistance of Jaber, Afroz obtained weapons from Jaber, who was restricted by Attapur Police Station (currently absconding) and Mohd Jameel’s Murias alias Chamu, Mohd Jameel,” the official added.
During the operation, police caught two country pistols, five rounds of live play, six cell phones and an SUV. The total estimated value of the seized property is Rs 51 million.
