International airports are crucial to attract foreign investors and promote industrial growth.
He clarified that the government needed about 5,000 acres of land to build an international airport in the capital region.
The minister said if the government adopts the Land Summarization Program (LPS), 30,000 acres of construction are required and land that can be returned for farmers has been developed.
He added that the state needs land for industry and sports cities to host international events such as the Olympics and international airports.
He said that although Visakhapatnam has an airport, the government is building the Bhogapuram airport.
Mr Narayana assured farmers who separate agricultural land under LPS to build Amaravati Capital City that they don’t have to worry.
Speaking in the media by the Secretariat on Wednesday, the minister said the government is committed to fulfilling all commitments to farmers.
He stressed that some people had no basis for the future of capital and urged farmers not to fall victim to such misinformation.
He reiterated the importance of Amalawati, saying that the construction of the capital is not only related to infrastructure, but also involves creating jobs and building smart industries.
“To attract international investors and promote industrial growth, airports are crucial,” Narayana said.
Land acquisition
The government has envisioned Amaravati as a hub for smart, non-polluting industries that can bring large-scale employment to young people.
