Villupuram Parliament member D. Ravikumar urged the Centre to accelerate the exchange of airplanes in Ulundurpet as Director-General of the Director-General of Aviation Quality Assurance (DGAQA) for Strategic Defense and Economic Development.

Ravikumar said in a memo to Federal Defense Minister Rajnath Singh that the runway of Ulundurpet is a historical significance that dates back to the historical significance of World War II and is currently under the control of Thanjavur Air Station.

He said a joint proposal has been proposed between the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), the Tamil Nadu government and the Ministry of Defense, to transform the facility into a state-of-the-art flight testing laboratory, a flight training school and a drone manufacturing park.

Ravi Kumar said the runway was also equidistant from Chennai Airport to the north, as well as Thanjavur Air Station and Trichy Airport in the south, making air traffic control clearance easy for flight testing, pilot training and drone flight.

Mr Ravikumar pointed out that the development of the Ulundurpet vacancies is a strategic initiative that can significantly enhance the country’s defense capabilities, and Mr Ravikumar said its transformation will provide advanced training and manufacturing facilities for the Indian defense industry.

He said the project is expected to contribute significantly to the region’s economic growth by creating new jobs, promoting auxiliary industries and attracting further investments to stimulate the local economy.

“The government of Tamil Nadu has taken positive measures by acquiring necessary additional land, and the proposal for land acquisition is at the advanced stage of sanctions and the Ministry of Defense is unable to directly attribute the land to the field due to certain technical complications to the point of taking it as an alternative. “The integrated air runway and its surrounding areas were said by the MP. ”

Unfortunately, the proposal handed over to DGAQA from the Director General of Defense Manor experienced delays. Despite the various complexities involved, this delay could impact our defense preparations by delaying the establishment of critical training and manufacturing facilities.

Mr Ravikumar said the ministry should intervene and speed up the necessary cleanup and switching processes to strengthen national security infrastructure while also catalyzing regional economic growth by creating skilled jobs and auxiliary industries.
