The famous Sherpa guide will try to climb Mount Everest 31 times to break its own record

One of the greatest mountain wizards will try to scale the world’s highest peaks at the 31st and 32nd time – and break their own records. Kami Rita, 55, flew from Kathmandu to Mount Everest on Sunday, leading a group of climbers to try to reach the top of the 8,849 meters (29,032 feet) during the spring climbing season.

“I am mentally, emotionally and physically ready to climb the mountain,” Kami Rita told the Associated Press at Kathmandu Airport. “I am at my best now.”

He has the record of 30 most successful Everest ascent. He climbed the peak twice last May.
“My first priority is to get my clients to the top of the mountain. Then, I will decide whether I will climb multiple peaks during the season. It depends on the weather and conditions on the mountain.”

His closest rival to Mount Everest climb was Pasang Dawa, the Sherpa guide, who had 27 successful peaks.

Kami Rita first climbed Mount Everest in 1994 and has been traveling almost every year since. He is one of many Sherpa guides whose expertise and skills are crucial to the safety and success of foreign climbers every year who are eager to stand on the top of the mountain. His father was one of the earliest Sherpa guides. In addition to the climb of Mount Everest, Kami Rita has expanded several other peaks, including K2, Cho Oyu, Manaslu and Lhotse. According to the Nepal Tourism Bureau, 214 climbers have been issued, and the permit can climb from the southern Nepal Mountains during this climbing season, which ends in May. Most of the climbs of Mount Everest and nearby Himalayas are performed in April and May, when the weather is most favorable.

Mount Everest was first climbed in 1953 by New Zealanders Edmund Hillary and Nepali Sherpa Tenzing Norgay.
