Warangal: With only four weeks left in Saraswati Pushkaralu, the district administration and donation department have quickly tracked Rs 2.156 crore in the temple town. Since the establishment of the State Group, the 12-day River Festival, which will be held from May 15 to 26, will be the first Saraswati Pushkaralu held in Telangana.
Officials are building new bathing ghats, permanent restrooms, drinking water tanks, locker rooms and pilgrim sanctuary, Godavari, Pranahita and Saraswati rivers converge in Triveni Sangam. The 20-foot statue of the goddess Saraswati and the sculpture of the Vedic scholar will anchor the main Pushkar Gh feet. Other works include the arch of the Daily Godavari Arathi, the composite walls of the temple and guesthouse, extended queue lines canopies and parking areas expanded.
Temple Mahesh told the newspaper: “Despite the heat and logistical obstacles in the summer, 65 of the 120 planned projects have been cleared in the first phase. The initial proposal sought Rs 350 crore; Rs 25 crore has been approved so far.
Authorities predict hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. The individual team is working on traffic transfers, 24/7 sanitation, safety and temporary accommodation. Saraswati Pushkaralu happens whenever Jupiter enters Gemini, and the consistency of the Hindus believes that the tendency to holiness is a special spiritual advantage. The last festival was held in Andhra Pradesh in 2013. This year’s version is a prestige project led by the Congress, which is expected to make Kaleshwaram a spiritual and infrastructure enhancement.
