The government held a full-party meeting; the joint cabinet gave warm applause from the “sindoor operation”

Hours after “Operation Sindor”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Droupadi Murmu and chaired a cabinet meeting to introduce his colleagues to a military strike. The government also convened a full-party meeting to introduce all parties to the “sindoor operation” to all parties on Thursday (May 8, 2025).

Sources said the prime minister praised the “perfect” action carried out by the armed forces. During the meeting, his cabinet colleagues expressed confidence in the armed forces and Mr. Modi's leadership.

Later in the day, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced that the government would hold a full-party meeting in Parliament at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Congress expressed hope that Mr. Modi would attend the meeting.
The Secretary-General of Congress (News) said in his speech to reporters that the opposition expected the Prime Minister to meet at the last party-wide meeting convened on April 24 after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, but he was unable to attend for some reason.
“Tomorrow is another all-party meeting. This is the first all-party meeting after the strong and decisive 'sindoor operation'. Our opposition leaders in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will be in the meeting. The discussion was made,” Mr Ramesh said.
