Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi said on Sunday that Taggarwal has historically been the cultural capital of southern India but lamented its gradual decline in prominence due to the dominance of the political narrative of Madras (now Chennai).

Speaking on the expression function of the Salangai Nadham Cultural Festival organized by the Southern Regional Cultural Center in Thanjavur, he criticized the influence of post-independence Western political ideology, claiming that they have led to disagreements among people based on religion, language, caste, caste, culture and food.

Padma Shri has won awards including Swamimalai sculptor Radhakrishna Sthapathi of Tiruvannamalai and traditional theatre artist Kannappa Sammandham.

He said people in Tamil Nadu emotionally responded to events such as the Bangladesh Division and the Jalianwara Bagh Massacre before independence. “However, today, unification can only be seen during times of war or in terrorist threats, as seen during the Pakistani aggression.”

Mr. Ravi claimed that the government talked about protecting culture, but did not respect staunch people such as Alwars, Nayanmars, etc. in the promotion of Tamil culture. Swaminatha Iyer and Subramania Bharati. “There is not even a research center for Balati’s name,” he noted.

He stressed that culture is the true unity of the country, and he said that the government cannot rely on its promotion, but must be supported by society and benevolent individuals. The event ended with thanks from Srinivasan, the centre’s administrative officer.
