The ground shaking, rumble of thunder sparks panic in Kozhikode in Kerala

Kozhikode: Residents say panic was triggered underground in a village north of Kozhikod, accompanied by rumbles of thunder, accompanied by rumbles of thunder.
According to villagers, the shaking lasted only a few seconds on Saturday night.
Officials from the Ministry of Geology and local authorities visited the area and conducted inspections on Sunday after complaints from Ellikkampara residents in Kayakkody Panchayat.
Many residents reportedly exhausted their homes in fear.
Nadapuram Mla Ek Vijayan, who visited the area, told reporters that there was no immediate cause of attention, but expert research must be conducted to determine the exact cause.
CS Manju, a regional geologist who inspected the site, said that so far there have been no formal reports of earthquakes in the region.
“There seems to be nothing to pay attention to at the moment. Some mild shaking may have occurred. Experts need to check to determine the details.”
She added that she will submit reports to the government through regional collectors.
