Minister of Health and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav

Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Y. Satya Kumar Yadav expressed dissatisfaction and anger at the allegations of corruption against the offices of medical staff in the district and asked the officials concerned to take steps to correct it.

The minister attended a review meeting on the implementation of various health plans at the regional level at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on May 13, and said he expected some Regional Medical and Health Officials (DMHOS) and Regional Health Services Coordinator (DCHSS) to perform better.

In reviewing the performance of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) and the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), the Minister praised the compound Krishna area for the best performance, followed by the Vizianagaram and Prakasam areas. According to the press release, Anantapur and other Rayalaseema regions lag behind the index and also lag behind the government’s secondary school hospital services.

The minister called for improvement in services in both indexes in the region.

Mr Satya Kumar Yadav said that although various positions will be chosen based on merit, his notification was that some administrators asked candidates to bribe them to give them positions.

He suggested advertising in newspapers, announcing that it was chosen based solely on merit and that no one should pay for any position.

He said people with lower governments should be transferred every three years. He added that the performance of regional medical staff should be reviewed annually to hold them accountable.

He directed every official to visit government secondary school hospitals in their jurisdiction regularly.
