The hotel in Andhra University will be temporarily closed after the exam

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University announced that after the exams, all student hotels will be temporarily closed from Saturday night.

According to Justice Acharya en Dhananjaya Rao, the closure will allow the completion of necessary annual repairs, while also addressing the typical water shortage in the summer. Safety considerations are also considered a factor in the decision.

“Management has carefully considered this situation and determined that the summer vacation provides the best window for comprehensive maintenance,” he said.

The decision comes after a discussion between university officials, presidents, chief wardens and engineering officers who jointly assessed hotel facilities and current water supply restrictions. After reviewing their recommendations, government officials confirmed the temporary closure.

After the exam is completed, the student has been instructed to evacuate the accommodation immediately. University officials stressed the importance of a quick start to facilitate maintenance of residential buildings and dining facilities.

The government has not announced a reopening date, although hotels are expected to resume normal operations before the start of the next semester.
