Police (South Range) Inspector General of MB Boralingaiah said intense and dedicated preparation is crucial to successful competitive exams.
He spoke at the 50-day coaching camp for IAS and KAS aspirants organized at the Competition Examination Coaching Center (KSOU) in Karnataka Open University (KSOU) on Thursday.
“Whenever government recruitment notice is issued, thousands of job openings apply for a few job openings. This reflects the growing desire for safe and prestigious public sector jobs. The only way to succeed is through strong focus preparation.”
Dr Boralingaiah is an alumnus of the Mysore Medical College and Institute, sharing his journey to take the competitive exam in New Delhi. He advised: “I come from a rural background, like many of you. But remember that you don’t need to go to Delhi to succeed. If you are passionate, committed and willing to work hard, you can achieve your goals in Mysuru. Make the most of the KSOU coaching center.”
He stressed the importance of a structured research program, group discussions on concept clarity, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle without compromising sleep. He also encourages students to stay away from social media for the time being to focus on their goals.
Mysuru City Corporation Deputy Commissioner GS Somashekar also spoke to aspiring people, sharing valuable tips on exam preparation. “Success in competitive exams requires confidence, effective time management, strong memory and smart replies technology. Believe in yourself and aims to clear the exam on your first attempt. Even if you don’t succeed in the initially, never lose hope.” He said preparing for the UPSC exams, and preparing candidates also enable candidates to perform well in other competitive exams, he said.
KSOU Vice-Chancellor Sharanappa V. Halse urges students to remain disciplined and persevere. “Everything is possible. Don’t give up on your goals halfway. Consistency and discipline are key,” he said.
