Hyderabad: Police are investigating the murder of tribal youth Banoth Kommalu, whose illegal incident is believed to be the main motive. Kommalu is reportedly associated with a close relative who persists despite warnings and fines imposed by community elders. The woman’s husband is suspected of plotting a murder.
Kommalu was lured by the deadly phone call to the woman to the field. The victim’s body showed more than 10 knife wounds, indicating the involvement of multiple attackers.
Deputy Inspector Goverdhan confirmed that the case had been registered according to a complaint filed by Kommalu’s wife. The complaint states that nine people, besides their wife and her husband, are also called defendants. Police are currently interrogating the couple and five others.
Investigators are analyzing call data to collect further evidence. The defendant and the victim’s family reside in the same colony. Police have maintained their presence in the village since Sunday and will continue for another two days, according to the deputy inspector.
