The price of alcohol may rise from today, reaching 10% to 15%

From the week, there may be a massive increase in the price of wine, with prices rising around Rs 40 per bottle and Rs 20 per half bottle, while the nip may be priced at Rs 10 (usually called a quarter bottle).

Although these orders have not been officially issued, the department’s website is unavailable on Sunday, suggesting changes made in the software will be updated with revised interest rates.

A senior official confirmed that so far, no official announcement has been made, but the closure of the website to modify the fee card is of course a sign. He also admitted that officials will be looking forward to the rate hike soon, but when will it start. But officials said the price fixing committee has recommended a 10% to 15% rate hike on alcohol, but recommended nods to the chief minister, and the archives are yet to be considered.

The price increase is expected to bring additional revenue, with Rs 15 billion per month. During the peak of summer, beer prices have risen. In fact, companies that supply popular brands of beer actually threaten that if prices don’t rise, beer will stop supplying.

Meanwhile, wine dealers have not formally informed the price of rising and they are not sure whether the rate hike will be for fresh stocks or existing stocks.

Harish opposes hiking
