The purpose is to make 10 million SHG members

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Saturday that his administration’s vision is to transform Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by tens of millions of women in the state. Speaking at the Inauguration of the Wehub Women’s Acceleration Program, Revanth Reddy, a flagship national initiative aimed at elevating female entrepreneurs, said: “Women’s empowerment is at the heart of our economic vision. Telangana’s prosperity lies in empowering women’s hands.”

CM reviews historical examples of “Mahila Shakti”, recalling the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s leadership during the Indian-China and India-Pakistan wars in the 1960s and 1970s. “Our victory in these wars reflects the tenacious power of women,” he said. Revanth Reddy said Congress has always valued women’s contribution to governance and society.

“From Indira Gandhi’s long term as prime minister to Sonia Gandhi’s instrumental role in implementing transformative policies such as the Food Security Act and the Right to Education, women have been at the heart of Congress’ mandate,” he said.

CM highlighted the Congressional administration’s women-centric initiative, and he said there are several plans that are improving women economically. This includes Mahalakshmi free bus travel plan, saving up to Rs 5,000 per month. The plan also made a positive contribution to TGRTC’s revenue, with the government allocating Rs 52 billion in 17 months to support the plan.

The self-help group (SHG) led by women also gained capacity through refueling and distribution of solar projects. “Women are now running a business that was once controlled by the corporate giant. We have handed over the 1,000 MW solar project to SHGS and are ready to provide another 1,000 MW,” Revanth Reddy said.

He added that the government, under the “Amma Adarsh School” initiative, granted a unified sewing contract, signed for women’s groups and provided free marketing booths in high-profile venues such as Shilparamam near Hitec City.

“Women are role models for financial discipline. While some companies have defaulted on Rs 16 billion on loans, our women’s SHG is paying off debts on time.” The state’s goal is to increase the SHG volume from Rs 7 million to 10 million and is launching a special motivation to include more urban women.

Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the Congressional government would retain the power for a second term with the support of ten million women. “We will make tens of millions of women familiar women and with the support of tens of millions of women, I am confident that I will receive a second term in the Congress government in the next parliamentary election. “We received 9.2 million votes in 2023 and formed the government.” If tens of millions of women support us in the next election, we will easily retain the power for the second term. ” Revanth said.
