The safety of technical and scientific facilities in the border areas of Punjab is to be upgraded

The conference focused on reviewing the safety preparation of research and scientific facilities, especially in the borders and sensitive areas of Jamu and Kashmir, Punjab, Ladakh and Northwest India.

Jitendra Singh recognizes the strategic importance of these institutions, stressing that scientific facilities, especially the Council on Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Meteorology (IMD) (IMD), Ministry of Earth Soldiers and the key pillars of the national infrastructure, especially in the weather, are key pillars of the national infrastructure.
As the current circumstances, all scientific institutions have directed to review and enhance their current security protocols. They must immediately notify the regional governments to ensure seamless coordination and protection. In this regard, each agency must develop and distribute standard operating procedures (SOPs) for emergency responses to ensure that employees and local authorities are fully prepared. To avoid students and researchers who may return to the state, all upcoming exams and research recommendation calls should be deferred to additional notices. Singh also directed the IMD Director-General to immediately strengthen security arrangements at its critical facilities and data centers in Srinagar, Leh, Leh and other critical locations.
Singh also re-emphasized the focus on internal preparation and civil coordination, in addition to external security, the minister also reviewed internal security protocols and the agency’s DO&Nots.

Singh concluded the meeting by directing all relevant departments to prepare comprehensive inventory for their facilities, especially in sensitive areas, and sharing appropriate protections with national security agencies to ensure a comprehensive list of their facilities.
