After Dimple Kapadia’s debut with Bobby (1973), opposite Rishi Kapoor, became overnight. The film became a super hit and established Dimple Kapadia as the leading star. Simple Kapadia also once revealed her discomfort in working with “jiju” Rajesh Khanna. “It’s definitely not ‘bobby’ and can never even compare to it. It’s like I guess I’ll never be another dimpl. Actually, it’s very uncomfortable for me to work with him because it seems interesting to see how different he is in front of the camera when you know a person inside and out,” she told India in an interview today.

In the same interview, Simple Kapadia also expressed tensions in working with Rajesh Khanna due to his star status. “I thought it was a big moral support to get someone you knew before I started doing actual filming with him. But then I found myself nervous, probably because I thought I was opposite an experienced actor. Kaka was very helpful, but Kaka was very helpful, but then I felt that he wasn’t comfortable either, and if I made a mistake, I wouldn’t feel comfortable,” she said. ”
