Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha said Khammam was ignored despite the deputy chief minister and two governors in the cabinet. There is no review of the huge crop losses caused by recent hail. Throughout Telangana, rice fields were flooded and mango flowers were lost, but the government received no serious response or evaluation. She claimed ministers were too busy with power struggles.
Speaking to the media during her visit to Khammam, she asked for compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre of damaged farmland, saying it was a minimum step towards supporting struggling farmers. She also lashed out at the government for failing to fulfill her flagship promise. More than half of the expected beneficiaries have not received financial assistance from Rythu Bharosa. Farm loan exemptions have not reached 60% of qualified farmers.
In contrast, she recalls the rapid and effective governance under the BRS, especially the construction of the Bhakta Ramadasu project immediately after the establishment of Telangana, which brought water to 60,000 acres.
Ms. Kavita also has the exception of silence on the Enforcement Authority (ED) cases filed by senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
