BJP ends high-stakes training camp in Puri

Prie: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a two-day intensive training camp in Puri on Sunday, urging its cadres to abandon internal factionalism and embrace grassroots radicalism as the election progresses.

The camp is designed to strengthen the party’s organizational foundation in Odisha, with structural meetings chaired by senior BJP leaders including BL Santosh, the State Secretary General (Organization), the Joint Secretary General B. Satish and the Secretary General Sunil Bansal. The focus is on strengthening grassroots participation and effectively conveying government welfare plans to the public.

On the final day of the meeting, BJP MLA, MPs and district staff attended four classroom-style meetings. Party insiders described the training as strict and intense focus, reflecting the determination of the central leaders to strengthen the BJP’s eastern footprint.

On Saturday, BJP National President JP NADDA gave a candid keynote speech, setting the tone for the camp. He warned in a myriad of briefs against complacency, self-driven politics and groupism within the party.

“Don’t take your position as your badge of yourself. Whether you’re an MLA, a member of Congress or a minister, first develop your personality. Stay away from groupism.”

He also developed a 14-point action plan to reconnect elected representatives to the grassroots. The main directives include regular spending at least 30 minutes at Anganwadi Centre and primary health care facilities, promoting direct interactions with Dalit families, and establishing partnerships with government officials to improve coordination between governance and party work.

Nadda (NADDA) stressed that leadership should not be measured by ownership, but by ground commitment and responsiveness to public needs.

As the camp concluded, party strategists expressed their hope that training would reinforcing the units in Odisha and prepare for the people-centered movement. As the state is increasingly seen as a key battlefield in the BJP’s national expansion plan, leadership is relying on disciplined cadres and grassroots propaganda to push its elections.
