United States: Airplane crashing near the Major Highway in South Florida | World News

Officials said a small plane carrying three crashed Friday morning near a major interstate and railroad track in South Florida.

Boca Raton police said in a social media post that several roads near Baca Raton Airport were closed near Interstate 95 shortly after the plane was 10 a.m. Local media reported that the plane was on fire and firefighters were responding.

The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as the Cessna 310, with three people on board, although it is not clear whether anyone died.

The FAA said in an email that it departed from Boca Raton Airport for Tallahassee at about 10:20 a.m.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating, which leads the investigation.

Fire officials told the South Florida Sun Sentinel that the plane appeared to push the car onto the rails, causing it to shut down. The fate of the car occupants is also unknown.

Miguel Coka, 51, who works near Boca Raton Airport, said he is used to seeing planes flying low as they prepare for landing. But this time, he and his colleagues noticed something happened.
“Everyone in the building has a rumble, and everyone in the building feels it,” he said when the plane crashed. “We were all shocked.” He captured the smoke and flames of the crash from the office balcony in the video.

Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer said the investigation has just begun.

“We are very sad to confirm the plane crash that happened earlier in our community today. For now, details are still emerging and we are working closely with emergency responders and authorities,” Singh said in a statement. “Our ideas are with everyone affected by this tragic incident. As the investigation continues, we demand patience and respect for the families involved.” A major road was closed as crash investigators are redirecting traffic. Inside the police recording area is the Boca Raton police car, airport operation vehicles and police movement command, with helicopters circling the area.
