“Monika Panwar – perfect for a creepy role in Khauf!”

Prime Video recently announced the premiere date for the upcoming spine shocking suspense horror series Khauf, which sparked audience excitement. The series marks the directorial debut of famous photographer Pankaj Kumar, known for his role in Haider, Tumbaad, Tumbaad, Brahmastra Part One-Shiva and Farzi. The talented photographer turned director is known to bring the narrative to life with immersive visual entertainment that everyone can now enhance with Khauf. The series plays a great cast including Monika Panwar, Rajat Kapoor, Abhishek Chauhan, Geetanjali Kulkarni and Shilpa Shukla, playing the role of shot put, and the series promises to keep viewers at the edge of their seats.

Pankaj delves into his excitement and he abandons Monika to lead the series. “There are countless discussions about every audition we see. We went through many auditions for each character, but the moment we saw Monika, it was a unanimous decision – she was our leader.”

He said, “It’s very beneficial to work with actors who naturally embody their roles. Their seamless performance made my job easier. They were just personality and had a few months of rehearsal process so the bonds were very real, so it was very cute because it was all honest and because they were all terrible, so all my casts were competing. It was chosen purely based on the merits because they really fit their roles without any other factors that influenced them.”

Khauf follows the story of a young woman, Madhu, who moves to a bustling city, seeks a new starting point, only to encounter a vicious force in the hotel room that forces her to face the dark demons of the past. Khauf, under Matchbox Shots Banner, marked the debut of Smita Singh, performed by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil. Directed by Pankaj Kumar and Surya Balakrishna, Khauf will premiere on April 18 in Prime videos in India and over 240 countries and regions.
