“This is how Russia starts Good Friday”: Zelenskyy condemns strikes against Ukrainian cities | World News

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the Russian attack, which attacked several Ukrainian cities on Good Friday, including missile and drone strikes against Kharkif and Sumi.

Zelenskyy further said about 70 people injured, including children.

Zelenskyy wrote: “This is the way Russia started this friendly Friday – ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Shahes – that destroyed our people and the city. A missile strike against Kharkif, right in the city of Kharkif. Dozens of residential buildings were damaged, including 70 people, including five children. The injured were unfortunately given the necessary medical assistance.

The post added, “Sumy. Russian attack drones. One of the targets was a regular bakery, an ordinary business that has served the city for decades. Tragically, one person was killed in this attack. My confidences to all who have lost loved ones. There were also Russian strikes on Dnipro, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions. Our rescuers, medics, and other emergency and specialized services are all responding and helping. I thank every single person who saves lives and restores living conditions in Ukrainian cities and villages. ”

Zelenskyy called for continued international support, stressing the need for air defense systems and protection of Ukraine’s living and infrastructure.

Zelenskyy wrote on X: “I thank all the partners who helped defend Ukraine. Every defense plan is important – all air defense systems, providing enough missile supply to these systems – which does make a difference.”

Earlier on April 13, Russia attacked Ukraine’s Sumi city on Sunday, with at least 31 people dead, including two children and more than 84 injured, 10 of which were children, the worst attack on Ukrainian civilians since 2023.
