This is Mammootty’s PR reaction to his cancer rumors, which worried his fans. The legendary actor is currently filming for the highly anticipated director Mahesh Narayanan, which also includes Mohanlal, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil.
Rumors emerged on Reddit on Sunday, with legendary actor Mammootty being diagnosed with cancer. His PR team has now dismissed the rumors and clarified that Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail (known as Mammootty) was in good health and that his performance was only rested due to the ongoing Ramzan Festival.
Mammootty’s PR issued a statement to noon, which read: “This is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is also taking a break due to the shooting schedule. In fact, after the break, he will go back to shoot Mohanlal for Mahesh Narayanan’s film.”
The tentative title is MMMN (for Mammootty, Mohanlal and Mahesh Narayanan), the upcoming film is one of the most anticipated movies in Indian films as it has been 16 years since the 2008 film Twyty: 20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20:20. MMMN also features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Nayanthara.
Meanwhile, Mammootty will be seen in the 2024 action thriller Bazooka before this highly anticipated project. The film was originally scheduled to be written and hosted on April 10 in the director’s debut. “Battlehot” also features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Babu Antony, Gayathiri Iyer, Neeta Pillai, Neeta Pillai and Shine Tom Chacko.
Mammootty has produced over 400 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and English, which span fifty years. He also won the National Best Actor Award three times and received the honor of Padma Shri. His son Dulquer Salmaan is also an accomplished actor in the Indian film industry.
