Hyderabad Police Department broke an organized cricket betting racket and arrested three people who participated in illegal online betting during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

The Commissioner Task Force southeastern region operated with Narayanguda police, seizing Rs 1.32 lakh of cash and seizing three cell phones from the defendants.

The arrested person was identified as Guruvinder Singh Saluja, 41, also known as Gourav, the latter of which is the main book. Sardar Jasvinder Singh, also known as Jessy or Likki, is a sub-book, while Koppula Karthik, 28, is the bettor on betting rackets.

The investigation shows that the defendants are operating an online gambling network using user IDs obtained from Nanded in Maharashtra and Mukesh from Kachiguda in Hyderabad (also known as Vicky). The defendant is promoting cricket betting through the website, distributing login certificates to bettors in exchange for commissions.
