The three were killed in a road accident on Monday (April 21, 2025) when an SUV hit a motorcycle and leaned them near East Ramapuram on the Villupuram-Nagapattinam National Highway.
Police identified the deceased as P. Nehru, 55, of M. Pudur village, B. Kalpana, 30, and P. Saranya, 30, of Naginatham village.
Police said Nehru and the two women were triple-riding and working at the former cashew nut orchard in M. Pudur. As they adapted to East Ramapuram, a speeding SUV hit them from behind. During the impact, all three of them were thrown away from their bikes.
When Kalpana and Saranya died on the spot, Nehru died on his way to Cuddalore Government General Hospital. The case has been registered.
