Officials said three Army personnel were killed when their vehicles slipped on the road and fell into a 700-foot deep canyon in the Ramba district of Jamu and Kashmir on Sunday.
They said the Army, police, SDRF and local volunteers and three soldiers immediately launched a joint rescue operation and were found dead.
Officials said the deceased were identified as Sepoys Amit Kumar, Sujeet Kumar and Man Bahadur whose bodies were being retrieved from the canyon, adding that the crash reduced the vehicle and turned the vehicle into a pile of metal.
