Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi met with states’ general secretary and leadership on Tuesday in search of ways to strengthen the Regional Congress Committee (DCC).

Sources say the party’s top brass discusses Mukul Wasnik’s report on strengthening the DCC. Some key suggestions include consulting the DCC on important political developments, the five-year term of the DCC president, not allowing DCC chiefs to participate in three-year elections, and so on.

Senior leaders participating in the meeting included Secretary-General (Organization) KC Venugopal, Party Treasurer Ajay Maken and Secretary-General Bhupesh Baghel, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, Randeep Surjewala and Sachin Pilot, among others.
