TN CM Stalin allocates subsidy checks to first-time HAJ pilgrimage

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin handed over each cheque of Rs 25,000 to the first-time Haj Pilgrims on Saturday (10 May 2025). This year, a total of 5,650 qualified Haj pilgrims in Tamil Nadu will receive government subsidies.

According to an official press release, a discussion on the grants of the Ministry of Minority Welfare announced that the subsidy for qualified first Haj Pilgrims will increase to Rs 25,000 from this year. Since then, the state government has allocated a total of Rs 1,412 crore to subsidize 5,650 qualified pilgrims at a price of Rs 25,000 per person.
