TN government grants minority status to 153 educational institutions

The Tamil Nadu government has granted minority status to 153 educational institutions in the state. This is the 159 existing institutions that have awarded certificates of minority status.

According to the press release, the authorized committee led by the Chief Secretary reviewed applications for minority status in educational institutions, and recently held its seventh meeting. The committee accepted 160 applications to seek the status of minorities. After review, 153 institutions have been granted the status of minority educational institutions.

Press Release Overall, backward classes, most backward classes and minority welfare have granted minority status to 312 educational institutions in the state, including 246 institutions awarded permanent minority status certificates.
