Tamil Nadu Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services, Thiaga Rajan, reiterated on Monday (21 April 2025) that his department has less funding. He also believes that in the industrial sector, not IT, Tidel Parks and Neo Tidel Parks are operating “unusually”.

Respond to requests at the conference filed by AIADMK’s PON. Jayaseelan (Gudalur) of the conference sought IT parks in his constituency, Mr Rajan said: “Even during this ongoing meeting, I pointed out the issues in my department. Even allocated funds [to his department] few. ”

Unlike other states, not all parks operate in the information technology and digital services sectors—only some parks are under their control, he said. He noted that in the industrial, investment promotion and commercial sectors, Tidel and Neo Tidel Parks are operating.

“Although this is an unusual situation, it has been the case in Tamil Nadu for the past 20 years. So if you ask those people who have funds, talent and authority, I think they will do it. We don’t,” Mr Rajan told MLA.

However, Speaker M. Appavu urged on this point: “The minister must have discussions internally and the Chief Minister and then decide. It is better to give a positive response.”
