BSF and Punjab police have recovered six pistols and 14 magazines in the Amritsar border area after extensive searches, an official said Friday.

A BSF spokesman said the joint search operation conducted Thursday resulted in a large package wrapped in yellow tape with a metal wire ring attached.

After unpacking, six pistols and 14 pistol magazines were found in it. This recovery occurred in a harvested field near Mochuan Village, Amritsar District.

A coordinated operation quickly carried out by BSF forces and the Punjab police led to the recovery of weapons, a spokesman said.
