In a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, President Trump announced that tariffs are “making us rich”, comparing his trade record with Biden’s, who was accused of losing trillions. Trump touted billions of dollars from China, Mexico and Canada to charge billions of dollars for fentanyl cars, steel, aluminum and fines. He claimed to have taken more than $700 billion from China alone and said his trade policy has built “the most powerful economy in our country’s history.”
