Hyderabad: The sun sets on Thursday, marking the moment when the sun is directly above the equator. Day and night will last equally on Thursday, and due to the state’s location, it skewed in Telangana for a few minutes. Celestial events herald the arrival of longer days and shorter nights.

In Telangana, sunrise takes place at 6.21 AM, at 6.26 PM, and sunsets provide about 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of darkness.

“On the day of Equinox, the sun seemed to rise directly in the east, directly in the west only twice the axis of the Earth is neither tilting towards the sun, and can almost extend over latit,” explains K. Mruthyunjaya Reddy, director of the Institute of Archaeological Astronomy and Science Research at GP Birla.

Dr Mruthyunjaya Reddy pointed out that India will observe “Zero Shadow Day” on April 24. “This day, the sun will be just overhead at noon and will have no shadow on any object,” he said.
