The top gun star proves that he is one of Hollywood’s most impressive idols with a solid performance of mission: Impossible – the final estimate of India. The film manages to set a new box office milestone for India’s Tom Cruise. While the actor is preparing for the eighth part of the global release of Mission: Impess (Eussim), he also opens up work on two other sequels – Days of Top Gun 3 and Thunder 2.

In a recent chat with Today Show Australia, Tom Cruise revealed some potential projects he can sign now: Impossible: The final estimate is over. He also talked to Alejandroiñárritu about his next project.

Tom Cruise wears gun 3, “Thunder Sequel”

The actor said he is working on several movies, including Top Gun 3. The last film, Top Gun, was released in 2022, and has revenue of more than $1.4 billion worldwide. “Days of Thunder” was released in 1990 and remains one of the actor’s iconic movies.

“Yes, we’re thinking and talking about a lot of different stories, what we can do and what we can do,” Tom Cruise said. He added: “It took me 35 years to figure out the ‘Top Gun: Mavericks’, so all these things we’re working on, we’re talking about ‘Thunder’ and ‘Top Gun: Mavericks’.”

He also hinted that he worked with the final director Christopher McQuarrie for the last time. “There are many other movies that we are actively shooting right now. I’ve been shooting a movie, preparing a movie, releasing a movie. I just had a movie with Alejandroiñárritu [‘Mission: Impossible’ director Christopher McQuarrie] And I’ve been making a few different movies,” Cruise explained.

Shortly after Top Gun Maverick was released, there were speculations that Cruise could return to another sequel, reprimanding the role of Pete’Maverick’ Mitchell again. According to reports, in 2024, Top Gun 3 is under development. Ehren Kruger will be the script for Top Gun: Maverick, which will be part of the project.

Mission: Impossible – Final estimate of Indian box office

As a special treat for his fans, Tom Cruise released Mission: Imposs – Imposs – The final estimate, six days before the global release date (May 23). The film has won gold at the box office and earned Rs 3.3 crore in two days.

Mission: Impossible – The final estimate manages to beat the two-day Oppenheimer series, along with Marvel’s Thunderbolts* and America Captain: Brave New World. Movie stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Vanessa Kirby play key roles.

Tom Cruise’s next project

While Top Gun 3 and Thunder sequels were all very excited for a few days, fans don’t have to wait too long to see Tom Cruise on screen again.

The actor’s next film is an untitled project with Iñárritu, which will be released on October 2, 2026. The film revolves around the most powerful man on Earth, who is seeking to prove that he was the savior of mankind before the disaster, and he freed the whole world. It features Sandra Hüller, John Goodman and Jesse Plemons, as well as Cruise.
