Toshiba invests Rs 562 crore to promote investment in power companies

Hyderabad: Toshiba Communication Distribution Systems (India) Pvt Ltd (TTDI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Electronics’ large Toshiba Corporation, will invest Rs 562 crore to establish a surge-down facility and expand its manufacturing facilities for Power and Prosis women and Power and Prosis Switchers and Apas Inspasited Switchers (GIS) on its Rudraram Plants.

Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and TTDI Telangana Chairman and Managing Director Hiroshi Furuta signed a memorandum of understanding at the senior investment meeting held on Friday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Toshiba Corporation Energy Business Director A. Revanth Reddy and Hiroshi Kaneta.

The company is a global leader in transmission and distribution (TCD) equipment for traditional and renewable energy. It has decided to work with the state government to drive investment and innovation in products and solutions to meet the needs of the transmission and distribution sectors.

The program is in line with Telangana’s vision to attract high-value investments, strengthen the state’s power sector growth program, industrial capacity, and create jobs in the region.

During this period, Revanth Reddy said Telangana was at the forefront of India’s economic transformation, attracting global investors in multiple sectors through strategic cooperation and industry partnerships. Toshiba’s new investment announcement reaffirms global companies’ confidence in the national business ecosystem and Telangana’s growth story.

Hiroshi Furuta said Telangana’s forward-looking policies, a strong industrial ecosystem and commitment to innovation make it an ideal destination for its latest investment. “We are delighted to work with the Telangana government to drive technological advancement, accelerate economic growth and create a skilled workforce for the future.
