Tourism Minister says Nandi Theatre Festival in November

Tourism and Culture Minister Kandula Durgesh announced on Sunday that the “Nandi Natakotsavams” (Nandi Theatre Festival) will be held in a large scale in November.
The Minister, in his participation in the national Telugu drama competition in Eluru, spoke in detail about the glory of the art and culture of Andhra lands and the support of the extended coalition government led by the TDP. He said that under the TDP rules, awards were awarded to the theater figures and artists that the YSRCP government completely ignored. “We have awarded the Ugadi and Kandukuri Awards,” he said, adding that the loss of the Nandi Awards will be restored in a suitable way.
The minister informed that at a recent meeting with Gajendra Shekhawat, the Minister of Alliance Tourism and Culture, New Delhi, he asked the latter to award the National Academy of Drama to Andhra Pradesh. “Rajamahendravaram has deep cultural roots and may be a potential location for the proposed school,” he said, adding that the new facility will encourage aspiring artists and strengthen the cultural landscape of the state.
He said the government also plans to enhance the tourism industry through the public-private partnership model. He said that in order to provide much-needed improvements to the industry, the government has given industry status to the tourism sector, and the new tourism policy provides incentives and subsidies for investors. He said the investor summit in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and New Delhi was designed to showcase the tourism potential of Andhra Pradesh.
The minister said of the latest agreement between the state government and creative land that, for the first time in India, a cross-media entertainment city will be established in the state, with the plan including the development of theme parks, game areas and global cinema co-production areas. He said that in the days to come, efforts are also being made to develop the film industry in Amalawati.
