Chilean President Gabriel Boric had an interesting exchange with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a state visit to India on April 1, 2025, about the importance of Ashoka Chakra to the Indian flag. The conversation took place at the Hyderabad House in Delhi, where the two leaders met.

During his visit, Boric stressed the importance of strengthening relations between India and Chile. Boric also stated that more multilateral cooperation is needed in today’s global context.

The visit will last until April 5, 2025, aims to deepen economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries. Earlier in the day, President Policy’s meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar marked the beginning of negotiations, with both sides expressing optimism about strengthening long-term cooperation.
