Trained flight attendant accused Gurugram of sexual harassment at ICU at Medanta Hospital

A trained air hostess admitted at the Medanta hospital in Gurugram that she claimed she was sexually harassed in a semi-conscious state within the ICU. The incident reportedly took place on April 5, but last week a formal police complaint was filed last week 24 hours after she revealed to her husband the alleged attack.

The woman claimed in the complaint that she could not resist because of her “soft condition” and claimed that she had attended two nurses during the attack without intervening. Details of the defendant and their role in the hospital have not been officially disclosed.

The Medanta Hospital issued a statement on Monday, April 15, acknowledging the allegations and confirming its cooperation with the investigation. “The hospital is fully cooperating with the investigations conducted by relevant authorities,” the statement said. It also noted that CCTV footage and patient medical records have been handed over to police.

However, the hospital stressed that “the allegations have not been confirmed yet.”

Gururam police have noticed the complaint and are investigating it. Officials said they are reviewing videos of security cameras and talking to hospital staff who may be on duty at the time of the alleged incident.

The severity of the allegations has raised concerns about the safety of patients in intensive care settings, especially for vulnerable people in intensive care units. If proven, the case could have a significant impact on hospital accountability and ICU safety protocols. The victim and his family reportedly demanded quick action against the person in charge.
