Does BCCI force Rohit to retire? Rajeev Shukla breaks silence

New Delhi: Vice President Rajeev Shukla said on Thursday that Rohit Sharma’s retirement from Test cricket was a personal decision, and BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said on Thursday that BCCI had no pressure to call him.
Rohit announced his retirement on Wednesday ahead of the five-match Test series in England on June 20.
As far as Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket, he made his own decision.
“Our policy is that players who decide on retirement decisions, we won’t put any pressure on them, nor do we advise us to say nothing,” Shukla told PTI video.
Rohit is an undisputed white ball, but he can’t replicate successfully in the 67 tests he participated in. Shukla said his contribution to the five-day game was huge.
Shukla said: “The more we praise him, the less we will be.
With Rohit resigning, it remains to be seen who is upgraded to Indian Test Captain. Jasprit Bumrah, Kl Rahul and Shubman Gill are contenders.
Asked about potential names in the competition, Shukla said the matter was strictly in the election committee.
“There shouldn’t be any speculation. The selector will decide and tell you who the captain is, and it’s totally their appeal.”
