Tribal Art Camp for School Children starting April 28 in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Tribal Culture Research and Training Institute, which operates under the Tribal Welfare Department, is conducting a summer camp focusing on the tribal arts and craft traditions. The camp is open to students living in Hyderabad from Level III to X and will take place from April 28 to May 7. Registration is open until April 26.

The meeting will be divided into two batches, each with sixty students. The slot machines in the morning will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, while the batches in the evening are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The site is a Tri New building in DSS Bhavan, located near the Nehru Centenary Tribal Museum in Masab Tank.

Participants will participate in hands-on meetings covering bamboo craft traditions such as Koya painting, Banjara crafts, jewelry making, Naikpod-style mask creation, and Kolam Designs. In addition to the workshops, students will visit tribal museums, watch documentaries, and receive traditional refreshments every day. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation.

The registration fee is Rs 1,350 per student. The program aims to introduce tribal cultural knowledge to school children through hands-on learning.
