Marcus Stoinis leads Mohammed Shami, hits four sixes in the second-expensive IPL 2025 Spell

IPL 2025: The right-handed batsman hit a sixth of four back-to-back in the final inning, making Shami completely unable to handle the barrage.
Marcus Stoinis made a spectacular showdown against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacemaker Mohammed Shami in an exciting showdown at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, pushing the Punjab Kings to an impressive 245/6 in the IPL 2025 match. Stoinis is known for his explosive hits, and he launched four sixes in a row in the final, putting Shami in total, which puts the heat in a strait.
It was a tough day for Shami, who ended up radiating 75 runs in his four games, one of the worst bowling shows in IPL history. The unfortunate record of the worst spell remains with Jofra Archer of the Rajasthan Royals, who had a tough outing earlier this season, running 76 times against the same sunriser, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The most expensive bowling returns in IPL history
0/76 – Jofra Archer (RR) vs SRH, Hyderabad, 2025
0/75 -Mohammed Shami (SRH) vs PBK, Hyderabad, 2025*
0/73 -Mohit Sharma (GT) vs DC, Delhi, 2024
0/70 -Basil Thampi (SRH) vs RCB, Bangalore, 2018
0/69 -Yash Dayal (GT) vs KKR, Ahmedabad, 2023
Shami’s troubles are not over. He has been trying short balls and throws all the way, and Stonis eagerly used the game to score freely throughout the field. Even though Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to adopt some wickets late in the game, Shami’s final did turn the tides, allowing the Punjab kings to set a daunting goal.
Stoinis finished his inning with an impressive 34 shot with just 11 balls, showing his tricks to score quickly, scoring with those four sixes and boundaries. Captain Shreyas Iyer also made a significant contribution, beating 82 balls, including six quarters and six sixes.
