Trinamool MLA Humayun Kabir says party discipline will be followed

Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir said on Monday (March 19, 2025) that he would abide by party discipline and follow the instructions of the party leadership after the call of provocative remarks by the Party Discipline Committee.
“My comment on March 12 was about what the opposition leaders said on March 11. Now, my party’s disciplinary committee has called me.

He added that he had assured the committee that he would “stay alert and be aware of” the discipline within the party.
On March 11, Suvendu Adhikari, leader of the state parliament opposition, said that if the BJP takes office in West Bengal, the Muslim lawmakers in Trinamool will be “abandoned”.
In response to this comment, Trinamool Congress MLA from Bharatpur threatened the terrible consequences of Mr Adhikari on March 12 and said he would not tolerate personal attacks on Muslims. He dared the BJP leader to cancel his comment.
After the dispute, Trinamool Congress Discipline Committee provided Mr. Kabir with a notice of the reason for the performance. But the Master has replied that he will not retreat from his position and that his community is his priority.
Mr Kabir also claimed that other party leaders like Firhad Hakim or Siddiqullah Chowdhury would not be notified for making controversial comments.
