Indigo announced the change in a statement Sunday, confirming that from April 15, all flights previously operated from Terminal 2 will be moved to Terminal 1.

Starting from April 15, Terminal 2 of Delhi Airport will be closed for maintenance. The terminal will be fully renovated 40 years ago by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

Indigo announced on Sunday that all flights in all its terminals will be moved to Terminal 1 from April 15 due to maintenance work.

With this change, Indigo flights will now run from Pier 1 and Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport until further notice.

Indigo said in the notice: “Delhi Terminal 2 will be maintained during maintenance, resulting in all flights moving to Terminal 1 starting from April 15, 2025 until further notice.”

“While notifications are sent to the registered contact information via email and WhatsApp, we also attached a list of flights reassigned on our website so you can get it within your reach,” Indigo added.

The airline added that it is notifying passengers via email and WhatsApp, and the updated flight list will also be available on its website for easy access.

Other airlines that are expected to fly from Terminal 2 will also move to different terminals.

It is also confirmed from Akasa Air, which runs from Terminal 2, that during this period its flights to and from Delhi will be transferred to 1 (1D).

Meanwhile, the upgraded Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport will be fully operational from April 15. “In just 2 days, a smarter and more comfortable trip was made on Terminal 1 of the Delhi Airport upgrade. Terminal 2 will undergo a comprehensive renovation, led by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), led by GMR Airport Limited. The renovation will modernize the critical areas of terminals and surrounding infrastructure to ensure that the T2 remains the top facility in the global aerospace landscape, able to meet the evolving needs of passengers and support the continued growth of the airport.

The renovation of Terminal 2 is part of Dial’s commitment to creating a world-class hub for travelers in India and Southeast Asia. The terminal and its associated aprons have served passengers for more than 40 years, and with the rapid increase in air traffic, major upgrades are crucial.

The refurbished T2 will have new passenger boarding bridges. Ayobridges will have automatic expansion technology, which is similar to India. Modern ceilings and skylights are designed for a more attractive environment. Premium flooring, and better road connections for passenger convenience.

These enhancements will help adapt to the expected surge in domestic passenger numbers, with dialing predicting it will reach its maximum passenger capacity by fiscal 2025-26.
