Two arrested for beating deputy inspectors

Mustang police arrested two people on Saturday for beating deputy traffic inspectors because they stopped them from abusing bus crew.

Police said the arrested people – V. Manikandan, 25, and B. Rajesh, 27, are residents of Otteri near Palamathi Hills, a suburb of Vellore town.

Asked, they came up from the mountain on the two-wheeler as the car crashed and drove away. The two chased the car. But they missed it after the private bus tried to make a “turn around” near the town of Solapadi in Verol. They got on the bus and abused the bus personnel blocked their way.

Deputy Traffic Inspector S. Velmurugan is supervising traffic on the route and trying to appease the duo. An argument then occurred and the two attacked him.

Immediately, some commuters alerted the police about the incident. Police arrived at the scene and arrested them. Later, they were resided in the Central Prison in Velor. Detection is underway.
