Two main goals are to benefit poor Muslims and stop robbery, abuse of property: Kiren Rijiju on WAQF Act

Rijiju said: “India is a big country, every inch of land in the country should be used properly. India owns the most land in the world as WAQF property. More than 920 million WAQF property in India, in India, it is not used in poor Muslims among poor Muslims. Its property occupies the scope of poverty. When our property is occupied, we possess consistently on our land. Muslims and stop robbing and abuse of property…”
Earlier in the day, Kiren Rijiju met and addressed the public in Mumbai under the WAQF Reform Public Awareness Campaign.
Earlier, Rijiju said in an interview with ANI that WAQF land was not “used” to benefit the vast area of the Muslim community, and that “some powerful” people are abused.
“Large section of the Muslim community is wholeheartedly welcomed this Act. The requirement for change in the Waqf Act, the necessary amendments we have made, are in fact suggested by the committees which were formed during the Congress time. If you see 1976 Wafq inquiry report, the Sachar Committee report, K Rehman Khan report, they all have talked about (carrying out) the management of the Waqf property in much more efficient, transparent, that’s exactly what we did. Passed in both houses, and later obtained the president’s consent on April 5, and then became law.
