Two officials lead media introduction of Sindoor operation

The presence of two female officials – Colonel Sofia Qureshi and wing commander Vyomika Singh – leads the official briefing on the Indian military's terrorist targets against Pakistan, which is considered highly symbolic and represents strength and sacrifice, besides the memory of the women who died in the Pahalgam attack. The name of the operation “sindoor” (referring to the vermilion red color worn by married Hindu women) is also intended to convey India’s response to terrorists and emphasize the cost of terrorism for humanity.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi of the Indian Army provided military details about the operation, including targets and precision strikes, and also displayed videotapes showing devastating videos. The official was from Vadodara and completed his master's degree in biochemistry from MS University in 1997.
