Telangana Weatherman is a popular account on social media platform X for weather updates and had to share the space with Grok, artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, on Friday (April 18, 2025).
Hyderabadis asked Grok about updates related to hourly and location-specific rainfall, which was obliged within a minute or two.
“What is the forecast for Hyderabad in India tonight? Asked a user Rizwan Mohiuddin and got a reply that he had a 36% chance of passing the shower at 7pm, 27% at 8pm and 27% at 9pm, which proved to be wrong.
“Tell me, is there any chance of rain in my area now? The northern part of Hyderabad is from Hyderabad,” another user, asked Krishraj Murari, who asked him to pay attention to local radar for updates while the department of meteorology predicts possible thunderstorms.
A romantic heart, identity “Mask Man” seeks Grok to create a nice Telugu song, which imposes obligations within two minutes. The translation of this song: “It’s raining, it’s cold; my heart is full of joy; it’s raining in our lives; the music is playing.”
With Hyderabad receiving a heavy downpour on Friday day, it became clear that many social media users have relied on Grok for weather updates for some time, even laughing at it for making predictions wrong.
