Two teenagers drowned in Hammam

Nalgonda: Two teenage boys drowned in the Munneru stream near Danvaigudem, Kaman City on Thursday. The deceased were identified as residents of the pump well area under the jurisdiction of K. Jenwith and B. Kiran Kumar, 14, as well as residents of the Khammam III town police department. The boys recently completed a Grade X exam from a private school and are awaiting their results.

According to police, the two left their homes around 6 a.m. and told their families that they were heading to the playground for cricket practice. However, they went to the Munaru Stream near the ghats of the cemetery and were believed to have been flooded due to insufficient awareness of the depth of the water.

There were no witnesses at the time of the incident, and their bodies were found only later in the evening by local residents, who found them floating in the stream and immediately alerted the police.

Personnel from the Khammam III town police station retrieved the body and transferred it to the government general hospital Mortuary for autopsy. An investigation is underway.
