Two tourists from Maharashtra were killed in Pahalgam terrorist attacks, two injured: CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) that two tourists from the state were killed in a terrorist attack near the town of Pahargam in Kashmir and two others were injured.

Officials said the terrorists opened fire in the famous Baisalan meadow near Pahargam town in the afternoon, killing 26 people, with most tourists exercising in restaurants, riding horses or just having picnics.

“I strongly condemn the timid terrorist attack in Pahalgam. I express my heartfelt condolences to those who died in this incident. We share the sorrow of their families and loved ones. I pray to God for the quick recovery of those injured in this incident.” He said the government was in contact with senior officials of the Jamu and Kashmir government.

“We also called up the Kashmir Division Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidri, whose jurisdiction Pahalgam Falls, to inquire within its jurisdiction,” he said.

He said two tourists from Maharashtra were identified as Dilip Disle and Atul Mone based on the information received so far.

Two people in the state were injured in the terrorist attack, according to information provided by the local government. Mr Fadnavis added that one of them was Manik Patel, S, of Panvel. Bhalchandra Rao is another injured person.

“Luckily, both of them are in a stable condition,” CM said.
