India is eager to cooperate with the UAE for defence co-production and common development: Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told Dubai that India is eager to work closely with the UAE to jointly produce weapons systems for weapons systems and is keen to combine resources for future technological innovations.

At a meeting in the southern region, the two ministers exchanged views on regional and global security and reviewed current defense cooperation through institutional mechanisms, military exercises and training programs. Officials said training exchanges have been identified as a key area of ​​defense cooperation.

After the meeting, Singh said that defense cooperation with the UAE will increase in the near future.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a discussion with Sheikh Hamdan. Modi said Dubai has been playing a role in advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership of India-US. Sheikh Hamdan expressed enthusiasm for the continued development of UAE relations.

He also met with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
